Make sure to snap a shot at these iconic Martin County photo spots!
Make plans to visit Martin County’s oldest building and the only remaining House of Refuge on Florida’s Atlantic Coast. Built in 1876 to help stranded sailors, the House of Refuge’s history spans nearly 70 years. Today, you can snap a photo of the quaint, mint-green exterior and/or pop inside to chronicle your experiences at the museum inside the House of Refuge.
Bridge Road
Driving down Hobe Sound’s famous Bridge Road is like driving through a storybook. Centuries-old Banyan trees line each side of this South Florida road and create a romantic canopy of draping greenery. Be sure to take a photo so you can remember this picturesque street far after you’ve left Martin County.
The Grade
Located less than 30 miles west of Stuart is a stunning road that transports all visitors to the Florida of days gone by. Martin Highway or, as the locals call it, “The Grade,” is Florida’s 25th Scenic Highway. One drive down this beautiful road and you will see why it received such an honor. The lush flora flanking both sides of “The Grade” is nothing short of awe-inspiring and will make all your friends jealous when you show them your photos.
Manatee Pocket
This adorably-named bay extends from Port Salerno to the St. Lucie Inlet and is fed by several creeks including Salerno and Manatee. We suggest taking a stroll down the Manatee Pocket Walk, a community boardwalk, to get a good photo of this beloved body of water.
Everyone snaps a photo of the sunset from the beach, but have you ever considered getting an up close and personal shot? Zeke’s Surf, Skate & Paddle Boarding Tours offers Martin County visitors the opportunity to paddle into the sunset and get a front row seat for the nightly show. Prefer the morning light? They also offer a sunrise tour!
