Treasure Coast River Cruises St. Lucie Inlet Preserve Cruise State Park Cruise is here! This special 3-hour public cruise adventure is an official collaboration between Treasure Coast River Cruises and the Florida Parks Department! You‘ll board Sweet Caroline, our 12 passenger pontoon boat, at the Stuart Riverwalk floating dock in downtown Stuart for a ~45 minute scenic cruise down to the St. Lucie Inlet Preserve State Park. The park is only accessible by watercraft! $65 per person includes the cruise, tour and park entry. Reservations are required!
The group will enjoy a ranger-guided hike along the beautiful boardwalk at St. Lucie Inlet Preserve State Park. The ¾-mile long hike will travel through mysterious mangrove swamps and enchanting coastal hammocks, out to the park’s expansive undeveloped beach.
IMPORTANT: You must be able to comfortably hike approximately 1.5 miles in 1.5 hours. Part of the hike is on boardwalk, and part is across sand. There is no tram service to the beach on this excursion
Along the way, you’ll learn about the different plants and animals that are part of these ecosystems, and why they’re so important. At the end of the hike, you’ll have some time to enjoy the pristine St. Lucie Inlet Preserve beach before heading back to the boat.
Afterwards, we’ll take a leisurely sightseeing cruise along Sewall’s Point back to Stuart, so you can enjoy the day downtown! (The Riverwalk Cafe & Oyster Bar has a terrific menu!)
What to Know Before You Go to the St. Lucie Inlet Preserve:
- There’s no tram transport, so you must be in physical condition to walk comfortably on the boardwalk and beach.
- The entire hike will cover about 1.5 miles in 1.5 hours.
- You must stay with the group during the tour.
- Carry in, carry out. We have ice and cold water on board the boat.
- Pack light – personal items (purses, jackets, etc.) can’t be left on the boat during the hike.
- Take lots of photos, but leave nothing but footprints.
